Doodling in Math Class

Google Sketch-Up and Intro to Google Sketch-Up

This tool (Sketch Up) will allow you to create three dimensional shapes and really give you a feel for what they do and how they behave. You can use it to take a look at conic sections in detail or to create other three-dimensional shapes. The Intro to Google Sketch-Up was created by the folks at 3dvinci.net and is a very good way to quickly start learning how to use this fascinating tool.

Free, customizable graph paper.

Use this site to print your own graph paper. You can customize the size of the graphs and the thickness of the lines. You can also print many designs of graph paper.

Khan Academy

This site contains videos and practice problems for a variety of Algebra and Algebra 2 topics.  The site is recommended by Dr. Porter. 

Educator.com

Professor Murray’s trigonometry help is a series of lectures run by Educator.com.  Professor Murray has lessons covering every possible topic in trigonometry.  However, to access all of them, you must be a paid member of the site.

Math.com

Math.com offers help with a wide range of mathematical problems.  The problem with the site is easily navigating to find what you need.

Math Forum

On this site you can find helpful hints and ask all those math questions that might not specifically relate to something in class.  They have tutorials and lots of math games and logic puzzles.  Check it out!

Study Guides & Strategies

This excellent little site has some great tips for study guides and strategies.  Whether you're studying math or social studies, there really is a lot of cool stuff to read up about and interest you.  Check it out if you're struggling with how to "get it all together" or if you want to know good ways to prepare yourself for your future classes.

Purple Math

Here you will find some neat resources to help explain mathematics to you and some charts, quizzes, and other materials to help study anything we may cover in class.
