This tool (Sketch Up) will allow you to create three dimensional shapes and really give you a feel for what they do and how they behave. You can use it to take a look at conic sections in detail or to create other three-dimensional shapes. The Intro to Google Sketch-Up was created by the folks at 3dvinci.net and is a very good way to quickly start learning how to use this fascinating tool.
